Home practice props

If you practice at home, the purchase of some basic materials is useful to perform your practice more pleasantly, better, safer. Unfortunately, we cannot indicate per individual online lesson what the teacher has decided to use in that lesson. For example, you have some general materials but also specific ones for very specific shapes. Below we will tell you -if possible – that you can also make something with house garden and kitchen stuff. If the name of an item is not clear to you, google for an image. We also have some items available in the school. See below.

Yoga

Most commonly used
2x Yoga block – alternative booking
Yoga belt, 2 meters long – alternative belt, scarf
Bolster – alternatively sturdy large towel around pillow until this is an elongated roll
Blanket to keep you warm in relaxation

Less commonly used:
Wool blanket to work more (wool for firmness). Move/horse blanket is perfect.
Eye pillow, gives your eyes rest, with that your brain and through darkness your system recognizes sleep/rest
Miracle balls – Alternative soft tennis balls Dome – alternatively tightly rolled up towel

Critical Alignment Yoga

Beginners should give themselves some time to get a little familiar with the exercises and props first. For Critical alignment there are very specific props of which you can solve a few with home, garden and kitchen stuff. These are the most commonly used and you can start using them safely from home.
Practicing with the headstand bench, we recommend first doing a few lessons in the studio for your sense of confidence and safety.
You can borrow some old models of the main stand bench and back bending bench from us for a while. Or buy them from www.criticalalignment.nl

Most commonly used:
Rubber Strip – alternate ordinary towel to roll up lengthwise.
Wool Felted Roll – alternatively large beach towel or rather wool (moving) blanket
Headstand bench – Before practicing with the headstand bench, we recommend first doing a few lessons in the studio for your sense of confidence and safety.

Less commonly used:
Backbend bench – Alternatively, put a yoga bolster a little higher on yoga blocks or if you have a sofa with a very wide thick backrest.

Pilates

Theraband – alternatively tights
Pilates ball approx diameter 20 – alternative floppy football
Weights 1-2 kg – alternatively small water bottles filled
